According to Brittanica, "Divination [is], the practice of determining the hidden significance or cause of events, sometimes foretelling the future, by various natural, psychological, and other techniques. Found in all civilizations, both ancient and modern, it is encountered most frequently in contemporary mass society in the form of horoscopes, astrology, crystal gazing, tarot cards, and the Ouija board."

In my culture, the concept of divination is embraced and rejected.  I grew up witnessing different methods of divination particularly on the Yorùbá side of my lineage. I felt a connection but avoided it, since at some point I wanted to be a nun and so many things are a big no-no.  But the more I connected with my ancestors and healed those lines I felt permission and encouragement from my ancestors and Creator to use tarot and oracle cards as tools to intuitively convey messages that supports the seeker's highest good. Like many readers, I started my journey by reading books, practicing on myself and friends and family. Eventually, I took formal coursework with a phenomenal teacher Ginny Shearer from Leading Light Collective who cleverly pairs Jungian self-development teachings with traditional Tarot knowledge.
